Lưu ý giống gà này không phải là gà bị khuyết tật, mà nó là một giống gà hẳn hoi và được di truyền lại qua mỗi thế hệ.
Gà đá không có phao câu đá hay không?
Đối với câu hỏi gà đá không có phao câu đá hay không thì cứ mang ra cáp độ là biết. Tuy nhiên nói như vậy thì “ai chẳng nói được”, hơn nữa nhiều con gà đá còn nhỏ, không thể nào cho thi đấu để đánh giá được, mà không phải ai cũng có thời gian – kinh phí để đầu tư chăm sóc mà không mang lại kết quả gì.
Trên thực tế gà đá tốt hay không dựa vào rất nhiều yếu tố. Vì gà cúp được xem là một giống gà chứ không dị tật bẩm sinh nên xác xuất xuất hiện gà đá hay cũng giống như những giống gà đá khác.
Sử sách xưa cho rằng gà cúp là giống gà quý
Tuy nhiên trong sách vở ông cha xưa để lại thì gà đá không có phao câu được xem là quý kê, hiếm có khó tìm. Thậm chí nó còn được nhắc đến trong một đoạn thơ sau:
“Phao câu không có chẳng vừa người ơi
Lông thời xơ xác tả tơi
Đó là gà Cúp gà Dơi ngang hàng”
Nhưng hiện tại trong danh sách những gà chiến đá hay của Việt Nam vẫn chưa có sự góp mặt nào liên quan đến gà cúp. Nhiều người cho rằng gà không có phao câu sẽ gặp khó khăn trong di chuyển, điều này sẽ ảnh hưởng khi đá gà trực tiếp cũng như giành phần thắng. Tất nhiên đều này đúng, cứ tưởng tượng con gà giống như con người vậy, thiếu mất bộ phận nào cũng không hoàn chỉnh. Song nếu có con di chuyển bình thường, đá tốt, lộ rõ những ưu điểm vượt trội thì ngại gì không đầu tư, đúng không nào?
Có nên nuôi gà cúp?
Như đã nói ở trên, giống gà này vốn rất hiếm, không có dễ tìm. Nhưng nếu có thì hãy xét tướng tá, khả năng di chuyển và đòn đánh của chúng để quyết định. Nếu thấy có tiềm năng thì đầu tư nuôi dưỡng, huấn luyện, biết đâu lại là thần kê – linh kê trong tương lai.
Việc nuôi dưỡng cũng giống như những giống gà đá khác
Ngược lại nếu lộ rõ khuyết điểm, không hay,… thì bỏ qua, nuôi lấy thịt. Còn về cách nuôi gà thì không khác biệt là mấy so với chiến kê thông thường, cứ tập trung vào dinh dưỡng cũng như phương pháp huấn luyện là được.
