  • Giống gà đòn đặc biệt hơn các giống gà khác là chân nó không có cựa hoặc nếu có cựa chỉ bé như hạt bắp thôi.
  • Về xương thì phần xương sọ và xương gò má to hơn các giống gà khác.
  • Phần cổ thì rất to, da dày và nhăn nheo y như hình sóng biển. Nhưng đặc biệt rất là chắc chắn.
  • Cặp chân thì rất là cao kết hợp với đùi rất là nở nang nên thường có các cú đá thật cao và đầy hiểm hóc làm cho đối phương gục ngã ngay cú đá đầu tiên.
  • Đuôi của gà đòn thì khá ngắn có lông cứng như hình cánh quạt trông cũng khá đẹp cứ như là một vũ công trên trường múa vậy.
  • Lông thì chủ yếu có màu đen, xám, vàng, điều, nhạn…Lồng khá cứng, giòn và thưa ở vùng đầu, cổ và đùi chứ không như những con gà khác có bộ lông cực đẹp và quyến rũ.
  • Đặc biệt cuối cùng là đôi mắt của gà đòn là mắt lồi, màu nâu bên trong có một đốm đen như là mắt ếch vậy.

Cách nuôi gà chọn như thế nào thì đúng cách:

Để có một chiến kê gà đòn dũng mãnh và khỏe mạnh ngoài việc chọn giống tốt thì cách nuôi của chúng ta cũng phải đúng cách thì nó mới duy trì và phát triển lớn mạnh được, chứ nếu nuôi không đúng cách sẽ từ gà ngon thành gà què đó. Do đó, nuôi gà đòn đúng cách cần:

1.Chế độ dinh dưỡng hợp lý đối với từng loại gà lớn hay nhỏ:

Đối với những gà đòn này thì được ăn những thức ăn dinh dưỡng như lúa, gạo , ngũ cốc, côn trùng, giun, dế,…và nên cho ăn vào hai bữa sáng hoặc chiều. Nhưng đối với những con quá nhỏ hoặc tầm trung thì sẽ bổ sung thêm chất dinh dưỡng trong thức ăn để nhanh lớn và khỏe mạnh, như:

  • Đối với những gà đòn khoảng tầm 1,5 tháng tuổi trở lên thì nên ăn thêm bắp, ếch, nhái, lòng đỏ trứng gà, thịt bò, lươn và rau để bổ sung thêm chất dinh dưỡng vì nó khá yếu.
  • Còn trên 6 tháng tuổi thì sẽ bổ sung thêm giá, xà lách, cà chua, chuối….

2.Cách nuôi và huấn luyện gà đúng cách để cho trứng nhanh phát triển:

  • Gà khi nhỏ thì ở cùng với mẹ để được ấp và nhanh phát triển hơn. Nhưng khi gà đòn lớn đến độ 5 tháng thì nên tách riêng ra, bởi vì nếu chúng được nhốt chung sẽ dễ đấu nhau gây thương tích và ảnh hưởng đến sức khỏe.
  • Tập luyện cho nó thi đấu thường xuyên để tạo cảm giác thi đấu với sàn đầu hơn để không bị nhút nhát. Và thường mỗi hiệp nên tập 20 phút.
